Loki's Journey

This is a description of the daily journey of my son Loki who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Prostate on 7/11/2003.

Loki's surgery went fine. He has a new central line and it is functioning just fine.

His last day of radiation was today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anesthesia brought him a present, a Farm Playset Scooter. It is the neatest thing.

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone in radiation therapy and Pediatric Anesthesia. Peter and I really appreciate everything!!!!

Loki's chemo today also went well.

Okay, no news is indeed good news. I have been bogged down with obtaining my Masters Degree, which I was granted on Nov. 25th!!!!!!!!

Loki is doing well. Chemo is going well. And, his last day of radiation is tomorrow. However, he goes straight from radiation to surgery. UGH.

Loki's broviac (or cental line) was broken in the radiation room, during sedation on Tuesday. It ballooned out and the inner lumen cracked, filling with blood and clotting. So, into the OR he goes tomorrow for what I hope is a SHORT surgery. In addition, he is supposed to get vincristine tomorrow right after surgery. Poor Baby. Not going to be a good day.

Sorry, about that. I have had the worst time posting in the last few weeks. I have written long messages three times only to lose them, and get frustrated.
