Good Morning!
All is well with the Jensen Family. Loki's 2nd Birthday went very well, and he had blast. Today, is Peter and my 4th anniversary. Last year, this time wasn't the greatest, but things are looking so much brighter this year.
Loki has a doctors appointment on August 25th, poor little guy has been dealing with constipation. Now I am thinking this is diet realted, but I have heard of Long Term Gastrointestinal issues stemming from radiation and chemotherapy. Let's just hope, it's that he is not drinking enough water in his diet. We do have stool softeners perscribed to him, and that has been helping quite a bit.
His 3 mth scans are Sept. 25th.
I know it's been awhile since posting. Things have been going very well.
Loki got his broviac (central line) out on July 8th, one year to the day he was first admitted to the Children's Hospital at the Cleveland Clinic. The broviac removal went smoothly, and the site is completely healed.
Today, is Loki's second birthday! It's kind of hard to explain rather surreal. Today, last year, we knew what we were dealing with...cancer, and Loki received his frist chemotherapy treatment. We were beginning a long journey....a journey where we, at the time, as parents, could not see the end. I am very happy to say, that journey has lead to a bright and happy place.
Loki is defintely two years old. UGH. He is wonderful, yet very very independent, which is good. He is testing boundries left and right. Its rather stressful, but all parents go through it.
I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has helped us over the last year, your time, effort, thoughts, love, and prayers have supported us in so many ways. Peter and I are so very thankful, thankful to have friends and family so close to us, thankful to have strangers who supported and cared for our son, thankful to have Loki with us to celebrate his 2nd birthday.
