Quick Update:
Peter was discharged this morning and is now home and resting!
Loki, I hope, is taking a nap too.
Peter is still in hospital, but very doing well. He is resting right now.
He is off heavy pain meds, and being allowed solid foods. We are hoping to bring him home tomorrow or Monday.
Great news, the pathology on his lymph nodes was negative!
The original surgery likely removed all the cancer from his body, but this surgery was necessary, in part, to confirm that. His successful cure rate is now around 90%! He will still need to be followed over time just to be sure.
Loki says Hi to everyone too.
Quick Family Update:
Visiting Peter today. He is doing well. Resting and sleeping, his pain is controlled.
Peter was having more pain control issues last night affecting his heart rate and bp. He was finally released from PACU at 11pm and up to his room. He was sleeping comfortably when I left.
I am going to hold off posting room number information for 24 hours so that he can rest, and until we know more.
Peter is still in PACU. Its about 9pm. He is doing well, but having pain issues. Hopefully, he will be placed up in his room in the next 30 minutes. I got to see him for alittle while around 6pm, but he was not feeling very well.
Peter's surgery is complete. The surgery went really well. He is currently being moved to PACU, and will remain there for about 1 1/2 hours before I can see him.
Peter is currently in surgery. The actual surgery itself began at 9am. We expect a 3-4 hour procedure. No further updates from surgical room yet.
Morning, Loki is doing fabulously well. He is staying with grandma today, so he is absolutely thrilled!
*******************************************
I am making this quick post today to update family and friends on Peter's condition.
His surgery is scheduled for 6am today at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, which means he will likely begin around 8am. The surgery will be between 4-6 hours in length, and then there will be two more hours in recovery before I can see him. He will then be admitted directly to the hospital to a main ward, and should not require ICU care. He will be in the hospital anywhere from 3-7 days depending on how his body heals.
I will update Pat via phone, and she is going to try and post updates here after I speak to the doctor, ect. Unless, there is something very obvious, we will probably not know the pathology of Peter's lymph nodes for at least a week. So I won't be able to let you all know about that for a little while.
I can, however, update you on his surgery.
